Satellogic is Proud to Announce Dedicated Satellite Constellation has been Nominated for Via Satellite’s 2019 Satellite Technology of the Year Award

Buenos Aires, Argentina – February 25, 2020

Satellogic, the first company to develop a scalable earth observation platform with the ability to remap the entire planet at both high-frequency and high-resolution, today announced that their Dedicated Satellite Constellation (DSC) has been nominated for Via Satellite’s 2019 Satellite Technology of the Year Award. The nominees are chosen based on innovation, benefit to the industry, and overall disruption to the satellite landscape.

Satellogic’s Dedicated Satellite Constellation offers the opportunity to develop a national geospatial imaging program at unmatched frequency, resolution and cost, giving customers access to geospatial analytics and insights with no capital outlay and no technical or operational risks. The company’s DSC model is aimed at municipal, state and national governments eager to gain complete control of a fleet of satellites over an area of interest. With access to a Dedicated Satellite Constellation, governments of all sizes are now able to develop unique Earth Observation programs to support key decisions and manage policy impact, measure investment and socio-economic progress, and foster collaboration, data and information sharing and innovation.

The winner of the 2019 Satellite Technology of the Year will be determined by a combination of the Via Satellite editorial team, including Editorial Director, Mark Holmes, and votes that come directly from industry. The public can vote for the Dedicated Satellite Constellation online, or through the SATELLITE 2020 Official Mobile App, sponsored by Artel.

“We’re honored to have our Dedicated Satellite Constellation recognized by Via Satellite,” said Emiliano Kargieman, CEO and founder of Satellogic. “It’s incredible validation of the value that we’re providing to our customers, as well as the ambitious technical challenge we’ve set for ourselves to develop a constellation with the power to remap the entire planet weekly at 1-meter resolution and drive down the cost of geospatial analytics.”

From the host of the prestigious “Satellite Executive of the Year Award”, Via Satellite has a longstanding history of recognizing the people leading the charge for the satellite industry.

“Last year, we introduced a new award, Satellite Technology of the Year (STOTY), an award that recognizes the impact of a specific technology that is making a difference in our industry. In 2019, Intellian deservedly became the first winner of this Award,” said Mark Holmes. “We have a terrific set of nominees and we await to see which company become our second winners of the STOTY Award.”

Voting closes at noon ET on Tuesday, March 10th. The winner will be announced at a special Awards Luncheon at SATELLITE 2020 on Wednesday, March 11, 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. Tickets for the Stars of Satellite Awards Luncheon can be purchased through SATELLITE 2020 registration. SATELLITE 2020 will take place at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, located at 801 Mt Vernon Pl NW, Washington, D.C. 20001.
